The next part of the implant is the abutment. The abutment is the connector piece that attaches the titanium post to the third and final part of the implant. This third part is called the restoration or the crown and is the piece of the implant that resembles an actual tooth. We typically use porcelain, since this material closely resembles a natural tooth and is less likely to chip or break.
